Introduction/Purpose
We are seeking a strategic and results-driven Business Development Director to lead growth initiatives in rare diseases, haematology, and immunology across China and the broader regions. This role will focus on in-licensing, co-development, M&A, to strengthen our pipeline and market position. The ideal candidate will have deep pharma/biotech BD experience, a strong network in specialty care, and a proven ability to close high-value deals.
Key Responsibilities/Scope of the Job
1. Strategic Business Development
? Identify and evaluate rare disease, haematology, and immunology assets for in-licensing, co-development, and acquisition in China and globally.
? Drive market expansion strategies, including partnerships with local biotechs, academic institutions, and CROs.
? Assess competitive landscape and emerging trends in gene therapies, biologics, and orphan drugs.
2. Deal Sourcing & Execution
? Lead end-to-end deal processes, from target identification, due diligence, valuation, negotiation, to closing.
? Structure and negotiate term sheets, licensing agreements, JVs, and equity investments in collaboration with legal and finance teams.
? Collaborate with Global BD teams to align China/global strategy with corporate objectives.
3. Stakeholder & Partner Engagement
? Build relationships with KOLs, regulatory authorities (NMPA/CDE), patient advocacy groups, and investors.
? Participate in industry conferences (e.g., Bio China, JP Morgan Healthcare, BIO International).
4. Cross-functional Leadership
? Work closely with Medical Affairs, Regulatory, and Market Access teams to ensure successful partnership integration.
? Support commercialization if appropriate in launch strategies for specialty care products.
