Develop and implement strategic sourcing strategies to optimize the supply chain, reduce costs, optimize lead time and ensure the highest quality of goods and services; collaborate with cross-functional teams and suppliers to drive continuous improvement and innovation
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Develop and execute strategic sourcing plans for assigned categories, ensuring alignment with business objectives and procurement strategies.
- Conduct market research and analysis to identify potential suppliers, evaluate market trends, and assess supplier capabilities.
- Lead supplier development process until frame agreement is concluded; involve supplier into sourcing pool and keep monitoring performance and risk management.
- Negotiate contracts, terms, and conditions with suppliers to achieve the best value for Siemens Energy.
- Manage supplier relationships, including performance evaluation, risk management, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including engineering and production, to understand requirements and ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
- Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to track procurement performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Drive cost reduction initiatives and value engineering projects to achieve savings targets.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements in all procurement activities.
- Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to drive innovation in procurement processes.
What You Bring
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, engineering or a related field. A master's degree is a plus.
- Proven experience as a Strategic Buyer or in a similar procurement role, preferably in the energy or manufacturing industry.
- Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in procurement software and tools (e.g., SAP, Ariba).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and suppliers.
- Knowledge of supply chain management principles, sourcing strategies, and market analysis.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality results.
- Good command of English, German is a plus.
