Role Charter (Global Job Title): Indirect Procurement Strategic Buyer APAC
Responsible to support multiple Indirect categories/projects for Japan, collaborating with different functions like Site Management, HR, Fleet Mgmt, R&D, QARA & Manufacturing. Partner with Regional and Global category management to ensure successful implementation of global or regional led strategies and drive compliance to preferred suppliers and buying channels. The role is responsible to ensure and continuously improve costs, quality and service for all local deliverables in multiple categories.
Key Responsibilities
? Supports in implementing global and regional category strategies, projects, objectives, processes, methods and policies across the Sites
? Lead RFPs for APAC when required, work closely with stakeholders to achieve best conditions
? Challenge specifications and requirements
? Manage local (site specific), day-to-day spend
? Buyer will align with Local team for guidance on tasks to be executed
? Drive preferred suppliers base (in line with global or regional strategies) and buying channels to realize savings targets within the country/Region.
? Lead Spend optimization initiatives
? Initiate Procurement initiatives to improve forecasting and savings reporting for the country/region
? Responsible for savings achievement and KPI’s for the country/region
? Responsible for supplier relationship in cooperation with the regional and global procurement teams.
? Manage escalations from internal stakeholders involving material supply and quality issues originating with the supplier.
? PO placements in ERP systems
? Support local team on procurement activities
? Undertakes systematic Market research activities
? Supports in implementing global and regional category strategies, projects, objectives, processes, methods and policies across the Sites
Accountabilities
? First point of contact for internal stakeholders on-site
? Support the implementation of global and regional procurement initiatives/strategies
? Support regional/global RFPs with responsible coutries involved
? To execute design to cost rtunities across all responsible sites, ensuring working capital efficiency.
? Guides/supports the tactical buying for Indirect Materials & Services
? Ensures Indirect materials and services are delivered in-time (based on the defined/agreed costs and quality)
? Collaborates with our ProcurX team to implement the Procurement processes & compliance requirements across responsible Sites.
? Cooperation and support of internal stakeholders at projects, request proposals and analyze offers
? Supplier selection partnering with relevant stakeholders, meeting the functional requirements.
? Supplier Relationship Management (locally)
? Integrate & harmonize agreed procurement strategies & methods across responsible sites and educate stakeholders on these.
? Annual procurement targets for responsible sites in alignment with global/regional targets (cost & savings, supplier quality, etc.)
? Support Regional Sourcing Leaders with regular updates to ensure effective communication of cost saving activities (Actual v’s target)
? Negotiate and create contracts/SOWs for local/site-specific requirements
? Supports local SOX and other auditing test preparations. Ensures local data protection requirements are fulfilled.

? Advise stakeholders on new preferred supply base

? Upcoming projects in all functions located in the Sites

Typical Background
Education / Certifications /Licensing:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a related discipline.
Experience:
3-5 years professional experience in purchasing for the specific categories or Indirect Materials & Services (desired)
