We are committed to deliver our big 4 sustainability priorities, including Climate, Natrue, Plastics, and Livelihoods, underpinned by targets encompassing social, environmental and economic areas.
This position is responsible for leading the coordination, develop and execution of initiatives to progress the Unilever Sustainability strategy in China.
The position will liaise closely with the global Sustainability team, as well as China Communication and Corporate Affairs team, drive the sustainability agenda both internally and externally, coordinate and manage as key sustainability contact with the China cross-function/BU. This position also serves as the C&CA business partner role for Home Care business in China.
Key areas of responsibility include:
Act as key internal China expert on the Unilever Sustainability agenda.
Develop and execute Sustainability China strategy, with big four priorities: Climate, Nature, Plastic, Livelihood.
Play a pivotal role on the Unilever Communication& Corporate Affairs team by providing sustainable living content and narrative across 4 BUs/Brands, developing partnerships and serving as a counselor on advocacy direction.
Lead CSR programs, and employee engagements around sustainability.
Develop and maintain transformational partnerships and collaborations externally (NGO, government agency, business partner, association etc.) to drive thought leadership in the industry.
Embed sustainability commercialization into core functions including marketing and customer development.
Collaborate with Communication to anticipate and manage reputational and regulatory challenges and seek reputation opportunities related to sustainability.
Partner with supply chain and R&D in joint sustainability planning.
As Home Care BU advisor,be responsible for external reputation management and engagement, media relations and activities, and crisis management.
Challenges:
Effectively ensuring 4 business/diverse functions embed the objectives of sustainability into their everyday actions and strategy
Evaluate short-term trade-offs vs. long term business health with regard to internal and external sustainability initiatives
Maintain a solid understanding of the total China business and portfolio dynamics in order to provide trusted counsel regards of sustainability
Effectively leading initiatives across matrix organization
Identify and influence to gain commitment to take action
Manage sensitive and confidential analysis
Scope:
This Senior Manager leads sustainability efforts across all businesses and functions in China.

Decision Support and Ad Hoc Analysis, Objective Analytical Power, Strategic Mindset, Entrepreneurial Drive, Change Management Experience, Developing Others, Influencing Others, Organizational Awareness and Team Commitment. Sustainability and communication working experience is preferred.
